The Intrinsic Team
James started his career in 1987 at Lehman Brothers International private client services. In 1994 he moved with colleagues to set up Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette’s (DLJ) International Wealth Management business in London. In 2000 Credit Suisse First Boston bought DLJ and James became a Managing Director and a divisional head of Credit Suisse Private Bank London. In 2009 James and his colleagues were asked to set up Jefferies International wealth management business in London and James became Head of Wealth Management UK, Europe & Middle East. In 2021 Jefferies sold the international wealth management business to Union Bank Privée London and James became a Managing Director of UBP London. James is a senior advisor and discretionary portfolio manager for long standing clients developed over many years at the above Firms.
Mark has been regulated and working within the funds industry for 40 years and originally started with a then FTSE 100 financial institution as a financial sector analyst and went on to manage the equity element of the life and pension funds, then valued in excess of £2.5bn. A keen supporter of smaller companies, he is currently invested in a series of private investments in the land and leisure sectors. Historically Mark has had various non-executive director roles in public & private businesses, mainly in other areas of the financial industry, strengthening his knowledge of the regulated financial markets.
Mark has worked in wealth management since joining Lehman Brothers as a trainee in 1986. Twelve years later he left Lehman to join Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ) as one of a cadre of senior bankers recruited to build out their new International Wealth Management business headquartered in London. In 2010 Mark was appointed Managing Director and Head of UK Wealth Management at Jefferies where he helped build out their new EMEA wealth management business from scratch. Mark runs bespoke discretionary and advisory portfolios for his clients and works closely with a number of sophisticated family offices focusing on asset allocation and investment strategies, governance and structure and succession planning.
Brendan has over 30 years of experience within investment management and related areas. This experience ranges from managing large pension schemes to individual private client mandates, as well as working in tandem with other advisers taking a more holistic view of client affairs. He is fully qualified and RDR compliant with Statement of Professional Standing (SPS). Brendan is also regularly and actively involved in company research and regularly meets with company management and industry experts.
Angelo is a seasoned wealth management professional with nearly 20 years of experience. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, he has a proven track record of success, having played a key role in building Jefferies’ Wealth Management business to over $2bn AUM. As a core member of the team launching Intrinsic, Angelo is committed to building long-lasting relationships with clients. His deep expertise in equities, fixed income, and capital markets, coupled with his proficiency in Bloomberg analytics, enables him to provide tailored investment strategies. Angelo provides comprehensive wealth management services, including bespoke portfolio management, wealth planning, and family office services. He is dedicated to putting clients’ interests first, ensuring their financial goals are always at the forefront.
Stuart was instrumental in launching the London branch of Jefferies Wealth Management in 2009 for whom he developed a leading open architecture trading infrastructure. He then held the position of Head of Trading, for the independent Swiss private bank Union Bancaire Privée. Stuart is a seasoned professional with a deep knowledge of front, back and middle office functions, as well as multi-asset trade execution, accumulated over many years and economic cycles. Stuart holds the PCIAM level 6 qualification, is a Chartered Wealth Manager, a Fellow of the CISI, a Senior Trader of SIX Swiss Exchange and a Registered Advisor under FinSA.
Richard has worked in the financial services and consulting industries for over 20 years. He started his career as a Financial Services Consultant at RSMi in 2004 before moving to Credit Suisse First Boston where he became an advisor in private client services. In 2009 he and his colleagues moved to set up the International Wealth Management division at Jefferies International. Whilst at Jefferies Richard built up a significant book of clients covering the UK, Ireland and the Middle East. In 2018 Richard moved to Hong Kong to set up the international division of a strategic consulting company. Since August 2023 Richard has been integral in the set-up of Intrinsic Capital.
Jack has been a key part of Intrinsic Capital since 2020. In a broad role, reporting directly to the Firm’s Senior Managers, he has fulfilled trading, operations and compliance roles. He is responsible for developing, implementing and executing many of the Firm’s key processes, resulting in better client outcomes, enhanced governance and improved operational efficiency. Jack holds the CISI’s Investment Advice Diploma and CISI’s Advanced Certificate in Global Securities Operations, and is currently studying for the CISI’s Diploma in Investment Compliance. He earned his MSc in Financial Engineering and BSc in Economics and Finance from the University of York.
Olly is a dedicated investment professional with over five years of experience at Union Bancaire Privée (UBP), focusing on High-Net-Worth Private Clients and Discretionary Portfolio Management. Olly holds an Investment Advice Diploma (CISI Level 4) and a Private Client Investment Advice and Management qualification (CISI Level 6) as well as a degree in Economics and Management from Cardiff University. Olly is actively involved in business development, playing a crucial role in building new client relationships and promoting the Intrinsic brand to support the firm’s growth.
